I built my BlackMist framework to make game development much quicker. My BlackMist framework saves me re writing the same code over and over again for every project I work on. When I was using Actionscript 2.0, rewriting code wasn't much of a problem because AS2 was just so easy, and quick to get things working. ActionScript 3.0 requires much more attention.

After much of my framework was built, I decided to stop working on Culmination, and test the framework out on Stork Shot. I'm actually happy that I did this because while developing Stork Shot, I found many problems with my framework. Now that I am officially working on Culmination full time, I'm working in a much stronger framework that is far more flexible.

Image

Observe the new HUD from the above images (incomplete).

Image

Culmination is so much more fluid that any other game I've made. If an enemy knocks the player to the floor for instance, the player will automatically flip back to his feat unlike my old games where recovery is slower.
Even though the story in Culmination will be short, there will be much reason to go back and play again and again.

Lone Warrior taking damage animated above. Also, some enemies will be able to jump.

Here is a vague rundown of where the project is.

LoneWarrior - 65%
Enemy1 - 50%
Enemy2 - 10%
Enemy3 - 0%
Enemy4 - 0%
Levels - 4/16
Boss - 10%
MenuScreens - 0%

Discuss the awesomeness.

Maybe.....you should create more enemies.......like Giant Spider...

Or.....You may make the whole level dark!!!!!!!!

So that...Lone Warrior may hold a small torch and onle a small area can be seen!
Let the players to explore the environment!!

It looks darker than the other games. Creepier, more evil looking.

OK

Critique number 3:

This is a shorter critique as there isn't all that much to comment on.

The lighting: Looks really artistic and natural (and just a little bit haunting)

Mechanics: You played with jumping foes a little bit in AwW 3 with the flaming skulls, giving that to standard foes would make them seem a little more natural and permit your foes to roam around the areas a little instead of them just walking back and forth.

A general recommendation would be to improve enemy AI so they don't just walk off ledges in pursuit of you.

Maybe it's just my opinion but with jumping should come jump attacks, maybe this is to complicated but I think that a leap/pounce attack of sorts would be cool.

General notes:

The "spinning" animation seems a lot smoother than previous versions you've shown us.

The recovery animation could use a bit more work (maybe give the flip a few more frames or something)

No offense but this comment seems kinda pointless, of course he is going to have sound and music! Have you played the other games?

lol, i meant a button to turn them off... like if we want to play custom music instead of the in game music, we can turn it off...

@d-sun: you should add a survival like story mode where you cant heal ( also you should make ai's that chase you and make them have a more meaningful purpose in the game...

Absolutely agree.
Shame....it will be only a short interval.

You guys and gals are getting it all wrong...

I meant a new flash game series separate from the Armed with Wings universe, that probably uses the same BlackMist framework that Daniel created for Culmination.

The animation of the enemies is bit......weird......

What is it doing? Jumping? Striking?

Wow....that will be cool.

At least......the plotholes should be filled......

The players in China are looking forward to see a perfect AWW storyline.

It would be interesting if we'd know how many have played the AwW games so far.
Could be more than the sales of Black Ops...

Sorry but as much as I despise the online population who fangasms over COD on their specific console which apparently makes it a better game to them, it still has a gigantic fan-base and I don't honestly think an online game no matter how good will "out popular" or something a hugely successful multi-million dollar franchise.

Yeah but the number of plays are more than the sales of Black Ops. Black Ops was 12-13 million I think.

Intrestingly, Armed with Wings 3 has been played 5,307,464 times.
