So I've decided to contribute something to this every day, don't hold me to that though.

Ideas:

Executions: Nothing elaborate or quicktimey just a simple stroke that would finish off dazed and knocked down enemies.

Stunned: In AwW3 you could kind of knock down foes but it didn't really matter because they just got up immediately. Also maybe an ability or feature to stun enemies for a short time.

Cannon abilities: Maybe have abilities and powers that would let you do things that the character(s) did in the previous games. The glowing prison the warrior uses in AwW2 and 3 would be one example.

Upgradeable powers: the ability to advance powers. I.E, improving heal, a greater power blast etc. The final advancement could alter the power slightly. some suggestions would be: heal would become drain (damage opponents in a certain radius while healing), flash ste-I mean teleport could end with an attack or something like that and power blast could...become more mighty (if such a thing is possible).

Learning curve: as you improve stronger enemies start appearing so that when you become god tier it's actually possible to die (what can I say I like a little challenge).

Death: More animations please, floating at the bottom of the screen and falling to your knees when you fall into the abyss doesn't really work, nor does it work when you die and are knocked into the air. Instead of a gradual disappear like you normally do, maybe have their entire body blow away and at a faster pace.

Mixing skill with brutality: You mentioned that while the warrior might have once swung his sword gracefully he is now on a rampage. That doesn't of course negate the fact that he is one of the most skilled swordsman on the planet and your current animations mix this rough brutality with skillful swordsmanship excellently! Bravo!

And that makes six cents (it's funny because it's a play on words) contributed to this project.

One more suggestion...

You should either make the game slightly more difficult, or make it have different difficulties.

Oh yeah... the scarf was missing :lol: I think I found out what made a big difference with the hair... in AwW1 the hair patially covered his face so now he looks like he is running against a hurricane or something :shock: and in my opinion the shorter sword along with the reversed grip makes him look like a sloppy swordsmen. I mean imagine your self trying to fix it while the other person just stabs foward. :D

I agree with different Deaths But make it much more.... flashy. Like fall to your knees then BANG!

Blackmist explosion like in AwW 2.

What do you mean by that?

And I read the other posts and the idea of stunning sounds good, but I was thinking about mid-fight animations. I mean you attack when the boss attacks and you clash and a text says hit S. Then you win the clash and do some damage to the boss. Other thing, the bosses abilities should work the same way, like LW imprisons you but you can destroy the box by pressing D repeatedly. Otherwise you can't attack or move.

Though this would require quite an amount of work with the AI and some additional animation and I definetly wouldn't wanna bother with it.

Accidently posted this in the wrong thread.

Thanks for all the suggestions and keep them coming. But don't be let down when culmination is released without multiple weapons, fighting styles, abilities ect. The scope of this game will be much smaller than Armed with Wings 3. I haven't finished he design yet, but so far the battle system itself is suppose to be quite flexible in the sense that it provided enough variety that additional addons are not needed. Other wise I've be making this game for far longer than planned.

With that said, Lone Warrior animations with scarf and fringe.


I've got lots to report on. I will when I wake up, going to sleep now, 3g internet is gay.

This is going to be better than AwW3 :D , here's another stupid list I thought of

when you run at full speed and then duck you slide and maybe trip an enemy or something :?:
charging attacks while moving and jumping sounds pretty awesome
for his double jump it might look cooler if instead of seemingly jumping off of the air that he teleports up abruptly
when you hit people while in the air it launches bumps you a little higher
a melee move with fists where he finishes the combo with that one move vandheer has in AwW1 where he charges foward and trys to blow you back
when you perform an air grab (might be getting carried away with my own stupid ideas) you float in the air and everything goes in slow motion
bosses that are as hard to beat as hawkin on hard mode in AwW2 (took me a few trys to beat it on hard :shock: )
I thought it looked cool when vandheer's special powers had color to them but everything else was still black and white
more breakable objects would be pretty cool
the lone warrior is my favorite character so this will probably be my favorite of the series :mrgreen:

No offense but you really are getting a little carried away. Slow motion? Air grabs? So far there aren't even aerial enemies.

@ armed with waffles

Let me rephrase that. As you progress through the game the weaker enemies would become sparser and the stronger ones would become more common. For example you wouldn't see the first enemy you fought at the beginning of the game on your way to the final boss.

I haven't been on here for a while and I guess it's time to start participating.

Ideas:
Aerial Enemies-If you are going to improve on aerial attacks, why not put something to use them against?
Aerial Garbs-I have to agree with sparky here; aerial grabs would be awesome! But if there are no aerial enemies, then there would be no point..unless...there could be a combo that incorporates an air grab
Grab options-I enjoyed the grabs in AWW2, but there was just one way to grab and throw an enemy; I would to have some more options there or even have grab combos.
Cut scenes- I was thinking of a cut scene where the Lone Warrior loses all control and it costs him dearly. What it costs him? I don't know.

Questions:
If you are going to put multiple characters to play as, what would they be?
What will the combat be similar to?

Comments:
I like the Lone Warrior with the new hair and the scarf.

I don't think we need grabs... This game's best parts are the boss battles and eventually you wouldn't be able to use it against them. Or why not... though that would make the game pretty easy.

I said that crap about arial grabs because I assumed there would be an uppercut move and enemies jumping out of hidden crevices from above so that you could give quick finishes to enemies with high health

I would like this: Strong connection between meele and sword attacks like in AwW 2 when you could ssitch between the two in the middle of the combo.

Also: Specials should definetly include Flash step, Power Blast, Two-way power blast And they should be different when used in mid-air. Like Heal power heals you on the ground but you can fly when using it in mid-air. Or power blast triggers aerial strike special when used in the air.

ADD VANDHEER LORDE AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER! OR UNLOCKABLE OR WATHEVEr JUST LET US PLAY WITH HIM!

Lately I've been doing nothing but draw Vandheer Lordes in my notebooks... the teachers were quite angry with me. :)
